What is Dogtime Community?
Dogtime Community is a website and a mobile app available on both iOS and Android where you can find dogs available for fun walks in your neighbourhood or on your travel location.
How can I book a dog?
Once you're logged in, navigate to the dog's profile that you want to take for a walk. Select a date, a start and an end time, you can also add a personalized message and the location of where you would like to take the dog for a walk. Then, hit 'Send Request'. Now wait for a response from the owner. Once your request is approved you'll be able to communicate with the owner and access his/her exact home address. You'll have to get there to pick up the dog for the walk.
How can I add my dog?
In order to add your dog on Dogtime Community, first make sure he/she's not aggressive with strangers and that he/she's fully vaccinated and legally registered. Once you're logged in, click on your profile picture on the top right corner of your screen, now hit 'Add my dog' and fill in all the section, don't forget to hit 'Save'. Make sure your own profile is also complete and that you set a home address in 'My Profile'. We're looking forward to your dog's first adventure with a community member!
The Premium membership is now mandatory for all members looking to borrow a dog for a walk. However, we offer a 30 days free trial through our mobile app to give you the necessary time to figure out if this is what you're looking for.
During the walk.
It is not required that the owner come along with the dog for your walk but some might want to join you for the first few minutes to make sure everything is going well. During your walk make sure you're always holding the dog on a leash unless you're in a dog park where it's allowed to let the dog free. You also need to be aware and respect all the city laws concerning dog walking. Do not feed the dog anything unless you have a written permission from the owner. Most importantly, have a good time!
How to communicate with other members
To access the communication interface, click on 'Messages' in the top navigation menu. You can only communicate with community members with which you have approved requests. You'll be able to communicate until three hours following the end time of the walk if you're a free user, otherwise there are no limits for Premium members.
We offer both phone number, email and credit card verification to all members. People can also link their Facebook and Instagram account for additional trust. In addition, both borrowers and dogs can be reviewed after their walks.
How can I manage my requests
Manage your request in the 'My Requests' tab where you can approve, decline or cancel a request. If you've missed the request you can also propose to reschedule it with the borrower, simply click on 'Reschedule'.
I didn't get a response for my request.
Not all members are active on the community on a daily basis. If you don't receive a response for your request, try again with another dog. In general it is recommended to send a request at least 48 hours prior to the start time. You can also check the response percentage on each dog's profile.
In which country is Dogtime Community available?
Dogtime Community is currently available in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia.
